Summary: As of 1997 collection consists of records of the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration (1957-1994), and some of the state government agencies that preceded it (1912-1957). Also within the collection are records of several divisions of the Department of Finance and Administration, and agencies administratively attached to the Department. Includes annual and other reports, administrative correspondence, minutes, directories, publications, budgets and other financial documents. Records of the Department's Local Government Division include documents from New Mexico city and county governments. Some of the major issues covered in this collection include public schools, local government, natural resources, and land grants. Collection also contains documents from the Four Corners Regional Commission, Head Start, and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The Four Corners Regional Commission was established in 1966 by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce under Title V of the Public Works and Economic Development Act of 1965.
